Collection: Waste Water Pumps
There are many types of wastewater treatment pumps, but the ones most commonly used include:
centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, and progressive cavity pumps. To decide which wastewater pump best fits your needs, contact Miami Pumps where one of our experienced engineers can help you determine the correct wastewater pump.
Centrifugal pumps are wastewater pumps that are powered by an electric motor or engine and have one or more impellers that move wastewater by changing kinetic energy to hydrodynamic energy. Centrifugal pumps are very popular today because of their versatile usage and the various fluids that can be handled by the system.
Sewage pumps are a type of centrifugal pump that are used to transfer sewage liquids and solids. The pump is sometimes referred to as a submersible sewage pump since it is submerged a majority of the time. Their design allows for solids to pass through without clogging up the pump. There are automatic sewage pumps as well as manual sewage pumps. A manual pump is just that, manual and needs to be turned on and off when needed. An automatic sewage pump works by way of a floating switch that will turn the pump on or off, depending on when the sewage collection in the basin reaches a predetermined level.
